Abuja, Nigeria – August 24, 2025 – The 36th edition of the Archibuilt Expo, organised by Archibuilt Development Services Ltd (ADSL) under the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), is poised to make history with over 300 exhibitors confirmed, marking a record-breaking milestone for sub-Saharan Africa’s premier construction exhibition. Scheduled for November 25-29, 2025, at the newly built Landmark Centre in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, this year’s event, themed Architectural Excellence for Economic Resilience, will showcase innovative designs and technologies to bolster Nigeria’s economic stability through sustainable and resilient architecture.
Since its inception in 1989, the Archibuilt Expo has grown into a pivotal platform for the built environment sector. The first edition in Lagos introduced emerging construction technologies with a modest group of local exhibitors. By 2004, the expo attracted approximately 240 local and international exhibitors focused on urban regeneration. The 2015 edition featured nearly 100 exhibitors, emphasizing practical solutions for everyday living amid economic challenges. In 2024, the 35th edition saw over 200 exhibitors at the Rainbow Events Center, driven by a focus on sustainable construction innovations.
The 2025 expo surpasses all prior records with over 600 confirmed exhibitors—a 50% increase from the 2004 peak and triple the participation seen in 2015. This unprecedented growth reflects heightened interest in architecture that supports economic resilience, fueled by Nigeria’s construction sector boom and global demand for sustainable solutions. The event is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees, including architects, developers, government officials, and international delegates, based on historical trends and recent data.
Since its launch in 1989 in Lagos, where the first Archibuilt Expo focused on promoting building materials with an unspecified number of exhibitors, the event has grown significantly, attracting approximately 240 local and international exhibitors by its ~15th edition in 2004 with a theme of urban regeneration, followed by nearly 100 exhibitors in the ~27th edition in 2015 emphasizing solutions for everyday living and international participation, then over 200 exhibitors in the 35th edition in 2024 at the Rainbow Events Center with a focus on sustainability, and now, for the 36th edition in 2025, it will feature a record-breaking 600+ exhibitors under the theme Architectural Excellence for Economic Resilience.
The theme Architectural Excellence for Economic Resilience underscores the expo’s mission to address Nigeria’s economic challenges through innovative architecture. Exhibitors will present solutions such as cost-effective building materials, energy-efficient designs, and modular construction techniques that withstand economic fluctuations. Workshops will cover topics like artificial intelligence in design, disaster-resistant structures, and green building certifications, while mentorship programs will nurture young architects. The event will also address critical issues like building collapses, a persistent concern in Nigeria’s urban centers.
